Personal Talk with Flow The Label

There are a lot of designers who still unknown in Ukraine. Talented and ambitious, they develop their brand, open showrooms and try to achieve success, despite a difficult situation in our country. Not so long ago I have heard about one Ukrainian brand Flow The Label, it exists only few years, but already designate it the big future. I have met one of foundresses of brand Viktoriia Balaniuk to make about her a post in the blog and in more detail to tell about her creativity.

Me: Vika, first of all I want to specify one detail. I`ve read your brand, but still can`t say the date of his basis. One sources write 2010, others in general have far left, in 2006. Tell when and as everything has begun that more anybody had no doubts in this question.

Victoriia: Everything happened in 2014, our first steps have coincided with those conflict on the Maidan Nezalezhnosti. You know that I am not the one in this business, I work with my sister Veronika. At that time she still lived in Belgium, but having heard mine the offer on creation of Flow The Label, has right there moved to Kiev.

Me: And you didn’t think to make in another way: that you have moved to the sister. In Belgium after all better circumstances for successful business, in Ukraine then there was a heat of war and financial crisis.

Victoriia: Any investor and business coach would tell the same, and I would agree with him. But I have a family in Kiev: husband and kids. Besides, my husband gave big support in undertakings of own business. The situation has developed so that it was much easier to entice Veronika here, than on the contrary. We have risked, we managed to have hard times – and now our brand prospers. But most important just ahead!

Me: Our designers now are well accepted in Europe. Due to that social situation in which there was Ukraine, at all some desire to support us and to show our culture to broad masses.

Victoriia: Yes, praise and very much love)) Ukrainians submit the mass markets now and gradually get out of the cliche which has bothered to all “the designer of postsoviet space”. Now our designers well know how to construct business how to do really qualitative product and to work fully with the correct business approach. In general, I consider that the Ukrainian designers have a high potential, the main thing – to work and believe in yourself!

Me: Vika, the American Vogue writes about your brand. It is big honor! Means, marketing of a brand is built correctly. What your concept?

Victoriia: There is a fashion-industry with certain rules: terms, deliveries, production. To everything, it is important to prove to be in the correct time. You can’t do everything you want, it is necessary to be able to catch the moment. Only in business development you begin to understand what working conditions for you are more comfortable. Someone constantly takes part in large exhibitions and finds the audience there, someone likes to sit in showroom. You investigate the market and you tries different ways. In total individually also doesn’t give in under standard conditions.

Me: Let’s return to the international market. What countries in your plans?

Victoriia: We already have a store in America, and have a quite success there. It was a big surprise for me to get the order for our collection from the Lady Gaga`s chief manager. I have been simply shocked! Now I consider as it is better to issue inquiry and I already anticipate an exit to a red carpet of this scandalous singer in clothes of our brand. And if to take Europe, then, of course, Paris. Still I think that we well would be on sale in the Asian market.

Me: In design duets someone is responsible for creative part, another – for financial. At you with Veronika work goes by the same principle?

Victoriia: We both in creativity) Our team, in particular and my husband, help to conduct questions by financial part and other moments. We have been given absolute freedom in ideas, a creative and to establishing communications on international “arena” of fashion.

Me: I know many stories when relatives do joint business and the relations begin to spoil. How it is in your case with Veronika?

Victoriia: There are no conflicts, but there sometimes misunderstanding. There are always small disputes in work process, because everyone treats what he does with soul and emotion. In my case to have such partner as Veronika, helps rather, than disturbs. We can disagree, but one is important: I entirely trust her, and it is mutual. When you trusts the partner, you feel ease in work, there are less stressful situations and any half-words.

Me: What in future plans of Flow The Label?

Victoriia: There is a lot of good news, one of them – we, at last, begin start of pre-fall of collections. And we will arrange the presentation in Paris in July, therefore the new season is very important for us, we take big steps to our big future)

Me: On the presentation of Farfetch which was held in Kiev recently we spoke about your brand. I want to tell that you had had a reputation of the most harmonious and organized brand. With you it is always pleasant to cooperate and shop, of course) Vika, I very much believe in you and I believe that at you everything will turn out!

Victoriia: Yuliana, thanks a lot! We will try to proof your hopes and hopes of our friends and buyers!
